GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Transport to and from the airport

  1. Kansai International Airport is the international airport close to Kyoto.
You can use JR Express “Haruka” train from Kansail Airport to Kyoto without no transfer. In addition, you can use a limousine bus to Kyoto from the airport.
  2. Chubu Centrair International Airport Nagoya is also convenient.
You can take a train from the airport to Nagoya Station, and take a Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. It will take about an hour.
  3. Osaka Itami Airport is the closest but limited to domestic flights.
If you enter into Japan at Tokyo Narita Airport or Tokyo Haneda Airport, you can fly to Osaka Itami Airport.
But I would rather recommend to use a Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Ground transportation

  1. From Kyoto Station to the conference venue or your hotel, taxi is the easiest.
Uber/Ola is not available in Japan. But “Japan Taxi” Application, iOS and Android available, is convenient to call and ride a taxi like Uber Application.
  2. Bus is easy, too. Please take a bus No. 206 at D2 bus-stop "Kyoto Station Mae", and get off at “Kumano-Jinja Mae". It will take about 40minutes. The conference venue is located just around the corner.
  3. Jingu-Marutamachi station is the nearest subway station to the venue.

You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from the venue each day. Your hotel can provide advice on booking a local cab service. Bus and subway are convenient in Kyoto, but bus in some lines are very crowded by sightseeing visitors.

Conference venue parking

The conference centre has no parking space. In Kyoto, it is very difficult to find parking space.
